Job Title: Project Manager
Overview: As an Excavation Technician at K & S Construction, you will play a crucial role in our Excavating Division, responsible for executing various excavation tasks with precision and efficiency. Working under the supervision of experienced professionals, you will contribute to a wide range of projects, from site preparation to utility installation. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic team dedicated to delivering high-quality results in the construction industry.
Responsibilities:
Site Preparation: Assist in clearing and grading sites for construction projects, ensuring proper levels and contours according to project specifications.
Excavation Operations: Perform excavation duties using heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, and loaders to dig trenches, foundations, and other required areas.
Utility Installation: Assist in the installation of underground utilities, including water lines, sewer lines, and stormwater drainage systems, while adhering to safety and quality standards.
Septic System Work: Support the installation and repair of septic systems, including excavation for tank placement, field lines, and drainage components.
Demolition and Debris Removal: Assist in demolition activities, including the dismantling and removal of structures, and ensure proper disposal of debris and waste materials.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including the proper operation and maintenance of equipment, to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your team.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with supervisors, project managers, and fellow team members to coordinate tasks, meet project deadlines, and maintain effective communication throughout each project.
Equipment Maintenance: Assist in the regular inspection, maintenance, and repair of excavation equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in excavation or construction-related work is preferred.
Familiarity with operating heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, and loaders is advantageous.
Ability to interpret project plans, blueprints, and specifications.
Strong physical stamina and the ability to perform manual labor in various weather conditions.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
Willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques and procedures.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
